Dr. Isabelle Stadelmann Steffen

Biography

Isabelle Stadelmann-Steffen is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Bern under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wolf Linder, focusing on women's employment in Switzerland. Her post-doctoral research has been supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, with work conducted at the University of Konstanz and the European University Institute in Florence. Stadelmann-Steffen has been engaged in various research projects, especially those concerning social capital and volunteerism. Her main research interests encompass comparative public policy, welfare states, education, energy policy, inequality, and political participation. Her scholarly work has been published in several prominent journals, including European Union Politics, Governance, and Political Studies. As a faculty member, she also actively contributes to the master's program in Comparative Swiss Politics.
