Biography

Isadore Kanfer is a Professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, with an extensive career in drug development and disease diagnostics. He served as an Emeritus Professor of Pharmaceutics at Rhodes University, South Africa, where he was appointed Chair Professor in 1980 and held the position of Head of Pharmacy and Dean of the Faculty between 1987-1989 and 1999-2007. Kanfer's notable leadership roles include membership in the South African Medicines Control Council and serving as Chair for various pharmaceutical committees. With 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Kanfer has held the position of Vice-President for Scientific Affairs in Canada. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences. Kanfer has authored over 200 publications and serves on editorial boards of several academic journals. His commitment to education is evident through his mentoring of postgraduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
