Biography

Isaiah Bolden is an Assistant Professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his Ph.D. in Oceanography at the University of Washington in 2020, following an M.S. in Oceanography in 2017, also from the University of Washington. Earlier, he earned a B.A. in Earth Oceanographic Science from Bowdoin College in 2015. His research focuses on biogeochemical cycling of coral reef coastal ecosystems, carbonate (bio)mineralization, and paleoclimatology. He employs various methodologies including inorganic mass spectrometry to study climate change resilience and adaptation. Isaiah is also engaged in marine science outreach, aiming to integrate scientific research with community education and awareness.
