Biography

Ishan Barman is a professor of Mechanical Engineering with joint appointments at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center and the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. He is an expert in biomedical imaging and bioengineering, with a research program focused on engineering innovative solutions for analyzing complex biological systems, addressing both fundamental biology and applied clinical research. A prolific researcher and inventor, he has authored 135 journal articles and holds 15 U.S. provisional patents. Barman earned bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 2005 and an SM and PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011.
