Dr. Ishwar Puri

Biography

Ishwar Puri is a Professor of Aerospace Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California, with affiliate appointments in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He has served as the Senior Vice President of Research Innovation, overseeing the university's research and commercialization programs. Puri is a Fellow of several prestigious organizations, including the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. With over 200 archival publications cited more than 10,500 times, he ranks in the top 0.4% of scholars worldwide for productivity and impact. Previously, he was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University and held various roles at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he contributed as associate dean for research and graduate studies. His research involves energy-efficient furnace design, thermal management in data centers, and the synthesis of novel materials and technologies. He also serves on editorial boards for leading scientific journals.
