Biography

Isla Munro is an Edinburgh-based designer and Product Design tutor at the Edinburgh College of Art. With a background in Furniture Product Design and 16 years of experience in the creative industries, Isla has worked with a diverse range of clients including bespoke furniture makers, authors, digital fabric printers, textile designers, community development groups, architects, and the Scottish Government. She has a strong commitment to collaborative approaches that ensure creative aspirations are met. Isla is the coordinator of the '100 Days Project Scotland', a platform that encourages daily creativity and culminates in an annual exhibition in Edinburgh. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students, organizing several core elective courses within the Product Design programme. In 2019, Isla took on the role of Programme Convenor for Undergraduate Learning and Teaching, where she manages course content and supports students throughout their academic journey. Additionally, she has been involved in research related to studio pedagogy and the importance of play in higher education, presenting at conferences such as the University of Edinburgh Learning and Teaching Conference.
