Biography

Itamar Kimchi is an Assistant Professor in the School of Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked under the supervision of Ashvin Vishwanath. His research interests revolve around theoretical quantum matter, where he employs both analytical and numerical methods to explore entanglement in real quantum materials and to design novel quantum systems. Prior to his current position, he was a NIST NRC Fellow at JILA, and a Junior Fellow in Theory Quantum Matter at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Kimchi is a recipient of the Pappalardo Fellowship in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he completed both his S.B. in Mathematics and S.B. in Physics. His ongoing research efforts can be found detailed in his publications and preprints, which are available on his personal site.
