Biography

Ivan Bermejo-Moreno received his Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology in 2008. After that, he held a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University and NASA Ames Research Center from 2009 to 2014. He joined the Department of Aerospace Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California as an assistant professor in 2015. His research focuses on combining numerical methods and physical modeling for high-performance computing, simulation, and analysis of turbulent fluid flows, especially in multi-physics phenomena. Throughout his career, he has received several prestigious awards, including the Fulbright Fellowship, Rolf D. Buhler Memorial Award, William F. Ballhaus Prize, and Hans G. Hornung Prize.
