Ivana Bevilacqua is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her work is deeply rooted in critical race theory, settler colonial studies, and Indigenous studies, with particular expertise in infrastructural geographies of the MENA/SWANA region, especially Palestine and Israel. Ivana's research critically examines the intersections of violence, infrastructure, colonialism, capitalism, and mobility, exploring the liberatory potential of subversive and unruly uses of infrastructure and property arrangements. She collaborates extensively with Indigenous knowledge keepers, filmmakers, community groups, and labor movements, striving to connect academic research with social justice pursuits. Ivana also engages with visual and embodied methodologies, collaborating with artists, activists, and researchers to develop decolonial art-based methodologies that intersect visual practice, ethnography, and political struggle. Additionally, she aims to reimagine the knowledge produced and mobilized within academic institutions, fostering creative collaborations that challenge dominant narratives and open spaces for radical practices. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from King’s College London and has been recognized as a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
