Biography

Izaak Neri received his PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Catholic University of Leuven in 2010. He held post-doctoral positions at the University of Montpellier and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, as well as the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems. He joined the Mathematics Department at King's College London in September 2018. His research interests lie at the interface of statistical physics, mathematical physics, and biological physics. This includes areas such as non-equilibrium thermodynamics, sparse non-Hermitian random matrices, sequential hypothesis testing, dynamics of receptors on membranes, and transport processes on networks. He is also involved in studying the dynamics of spin models on graphs and neural networks. Neri is noted for his contributions to the field and has a significant publication record, including articles in peer-reviewed journals that explore deep theoretical issues and practical applications.
