Izabel Amaral has been the director of the School of Architecture at the Université de Montréal since June 2021. Recent studies reflect a critical perspective on recognized Canadian architectural projects linked to innovative uses of new wood technologies, as well as research on the relationship between language, culture, and society in architectural pedagogy. In 2019, she initiated research-creation exploring the intertwined relationships between music, politics, drawing, and movement within architectural practice.
