Biography

Izabel Barsive is a multimedia specialist, visual artist, and mentor specializing in digital media arts. Based in Ottawa since 2002, she has contributed to video dance projects supported by various arts councils and has screened her works at numerous local, national, and international festivals. Her audiovisual and photographic works have been presented in art galleries and artistic events. Currently, her experimental explorations tackle themes of image alteration and the fragility of existence in relation to the environment. As a producer, director, and photography editor, Barsive has collaborated with local, national, and international organizations such as La FCCF, the Canadian Museum of History, and others. Her projects have been featured on television networks, including TFO, TV5, and Radio-Canada. Additionally, she has served as a jury member for various arts councils and has been involved in media arts workshops for individuals with special needs. Barsive has been a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa's Department of Communications since 2005 and has also guest lectured at high schools abroad.
