Izadyar Tamadon is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente. He joined the Biomedical Device Design Production Technology (BDDP) group in 2022. His main research focus includes utilizing new techniques and technologies, along with improving existing methods to enhance the comfort, accuracy, and reliability of biomedical instrument design. Tamadon initiated his journey in this field by obtaining an M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering from IUST in Tehran, Iran, followed by a PhD program in BioRobotics at SSSA in Pisa, Italy. He furthered his research as a postdoctoral researcher in the surgical robotics lab and the regenerative technologies lab. Izad is an active member of several EU Horizon Italian projects, focusing on innovative designs for flexible manipulators for cardiac interventions, implantable drug delivery devices, and artificial mechatronics organs.
