Biography

J. Louis Hinshaw, MD, FSAR serves as a Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in Abdominal Imaging Intervention. He is the Section Chief overseeing abdominal imaging intervention and is actively involved in several committees at UWMF, including the Professional Conduct Committee and the Finance Committee. His clinical practice has earned him the UW Health Clinical Practice Physician Excellence Award in 2012, recognizing his outstanding contributions to patient care. Dr. Hinshaw's research is concentrated on image-guided tumor ablation and CT Colonography (Virtual Colonoscopy). He has authored 70 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to numerous presentations at national and international conferences. He is also a co-investigator on multiple NIH-funded grants and plays a key role in the tumor ablation laboratory at the university. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Hinshaw enjoys family activities, golf, Badger sports, running, biking, and fishing.
