Biography

J. Christopher Love is the Raymond (1921) Helen E. St. Laurent Professor of Chemical Engineering and a member of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. He is also an Associate Member at both the Broad Institute and the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. Love completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Virginia and earned his PhD in Physical Chemistry at Harvard University, working under George Whitesides. His postdoctoral research in immunology was conducted at Harvard Medical School under Hidde Ploegh and at the Immune Disease Institute. Love has received numerous accolades, including the W.M. Keck Distinguished Young Scholar in Medical Research and the Dana Scholar in Human Immunology, and has served as a Distinguished Engineer in Residence at Biogen. He has co-authored over 100 manuscripts and holds multiple patents related to single-cell analysis and biomanufacturing. He is a co-founder of OneCyte Biotechnologies, HoneyComb Biotechnologies, and Sunflower Therapeutics and serves as an advisor to several companies, including Repligen and QuantumCyte. His research focuses on advancing therapeutics, utilizing single-cell analysis technologies and developing biopharmaceuticals and vaccines.
