Dr. J a Faria Albanese

Biography

J.A. Faria Albanese is a professor at the University of Twente specializing in the field of chemical engineering. His work focuses on leveraging fundamental knowledge in physical chemistry to study complex multi-phasic reaction systems and to create novel synthetic catalytic materials for sustainable production and renewable energies. He integrates molecular sensing and actuation mechanisms into conventional catalysts, paving the way for autonomous catalytic reaction processes. This research allows the development of modular, robust reactors for chemical production, energy conversion, and environmental remediation. He is deeply involved in education and mentorship, teaching advanced catalysis and reaction kinetics in both Bachelor and Master programs in Chemical Science & Engineering.
