Professor Dr. Jaan Grünberg

Biography

Jaan Grünberg is an Associate Professor at Uppsala University with a strong focus on governance in large complex organizations. His research primarily explores the dynamics between major stakeholders and top management within corporations and public organizations. His work has significant applications in various contexts, including publicly traded corporations, research hospitals, the biotech sector, and seed-capital settings. He is currently investigating the impact of media intermediaries and consultants, as well as the relationships between stakeholders and top management. A particular area of interest for Grünberg is the concept of mediatization, which addresses how media influences organized responses in complex organizations. In addition to his research, he has extensive experience in academic leadership roles, including serving as Director of PhD Studies and Secretary General for the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management & Business Administration, showcasing his commitment to developing knowledge management and governance. His teaching experience spans undergraduate, graduate, and executive education, allowing him to engage with a diverse group of talented individuals from various fields.
