Jacob M. van Laar is a Professor in the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at UMC Utrecht, Netherlands. He obtained his MD and PhD degrees from Leiden University, specializing in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Leiden University Medical Center. His main research interests focus on the clinical pathogenetic aspects of systemic sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, with the aim of improving patient outcomes in rheumatic diseases through innovative clinical-translational research.
