Biography

Jacek Pawlak is a Research Fellow at Imperial College London, affiliated with the Urban Systems Laboratory and the Centre for Transport Studies. His research interests include transport, urban systems, technology, and innovation, with a background in Economics and Geography from Imperial College London and University College London. He has served as the Research Coordinator for the Transportation Research Board Standing Committee on Effects of ICT on Travel Choices since January 2017 and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Jacek collaborates with Cisco Innovation UK and has held the position of Principal Modelling Specialist. He founded Intersection Analytics Ltd, a consultancy company. Over recent years, he has focused on understanding the role of modeling in the impact of new technologies on transport and urban systems, using both traditional and emerging data sources. Jacek has been involved in large-scale academic and industrial research consultancy projects, including the £7M EPSRC-funded IDLES project and the £6M EPSRC-funded Digital City Exchange project. He played a key role in the £2M InnovateUK-RSSB-funded Project SWIFT and was integral to the £15M UK IoT City Demonstrator Cityverve initiative. Additionally, he has extensive experience as a reviewer for academic journals and research agencies and advises UK government departments and industrial bodies, including the Department of Transport and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
