Biography

Executive Director of the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation (CHEPI) at Imperial College London, Jack Olney leads strategy and business development for a research portfolio exceeding £13 million, managing over 30 staff and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. He is responsible for driving centre-wide planning, budget management, risk management, and compliance, focusing on long-term sustainability. His role involves building strategic partnerships with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and academic collaborators to enhance CHEPI's impact on health policy. He oversees the development of significant tools like Health-GPS, positioning CHEPI as a leader in health policy simulation modeling. Olney also mentors mid-level leaders, fostering a high-performance culture and leading hiring and retention efforts. He serves as a module lead for MSc and BSc programmes, delivering cross-faculty teaching and supervising students. His previous experience includes working on mathematical models of infectious diseases, particularly in resource-limited settings with a focus on HIV and the HIV Modelling Consortium.
