Biography

Jack Percelay has over 25 years of experience in pediatric hospital medicine, beginning his career as a hospitalist in 1991 in Bay Area hospitals. He briefly worked as a civilian primary care pediatrician on local and international military bases. Throughout his career, Percelay has worked in community hospitals across various roles, including general pediatric ward, emergency room, and intensive care units. He has spent time working in hospitals in San Francisco, New York City, and Hawaii. In 2015, he joined Seattle Children's Hospital as Associate Division Chief of Hospital Medicine, returning to the Bay Area in 2018 to join the faculty at Stanford. He has served as the founding chair of the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine and as Chair of the AAP Committee on Hospital Care, alongside holding various other positions in professional organizations. His research interests include pediatric hospital medicine, systems of care, patient family-centered care, and billing and coding in hospitalist roles.
