Biography

Jack Thompson is currently an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Western Australia. His research focuses on elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs), with particular attention to integro-differential equations. He is actively engaged in projects related to nonlocal overdetermined problems and the regularity theory of nonlocal elliptic PDEs, as well as the theory of nonlocal minimal surfaces. He completed his PhD at the University of Western Australia in 2024, under the supervision of Enrico Valdinoci, with additional mentorship from Serena Dipierro and Giorgio Poggesi. Thompson also holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Queensland, awarded in 2020. With an h-index of 8, Thompson has made notable contributions to his field, as evidenced by his citation metrics. His active research interests continue to cultivate new collaborations and innovations in the realm of partial differential equations.
