Biography

Jacob Dalton works on tantric ritual, Nyingma religious history, and Dunhuang manuscripts. He is a co-author of 'Tibetan Tantric Manuscripts Dunhuang: Descriptive Catalogue Stein Collection' published by Brill in 2006. Dalton is also the author of 'Taming Demons: Violence Liberation Tibetan Buddhism' published by Yale University Press in 2011, 'Eyes Compendium Intentions: History Tibetan Ritual Tradition' published by Columbia University Press in 2016, and 'Conjuring Buddha: Ritual Manuals Early Tantric Buddhism' published by Columbia University Press in 2023. He is currently working on books that introduce tantric Buddhism and provide an interpretive study of Tibet's early Great Perfection Heart Essence tradition.
