Biography

Jacob Lamb grew up in Fife, Scotland and attended Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. After earning his degree in Civil Engineering, he worked in brownfield oil and gas structural engineering, focusing on bridge inspections for the Scottish truck road network. In Canada, he served as a consultant for Associated Engineering and the Transition Accelerator, where he helped plan all-season access roads and developed active transportation plans for alternative fuel fleet transitions. Jacob's PhD work at the University of Calgary, anticipated in 2024, continues his interest in transportation asset management, combining advances in continuum approximation modeling with autonomous mile goods delivery and Geographic Information Systems. He has been teaching at the University of Calgary since 2019, delivering both undergraduate and graduate courses.
