Biography

Jacob McFarland is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He specializes in experimental and computational fluid mechanics, with a focus on hydrodynamic instabilities, multiphase flows, and shock-driven multiphase mixing. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2013, following his M.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute State University in 2008 and his B.S. from Texas Tech University in 2007. Dr. McFarland has received several awards for his contributions to research and teaching, including the U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the Junior Faculty Excellence Research Award at the University of Missouri. He is an active member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and has been recognized as a senior member. Additionally, he has served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow in the Mechanical Engineering department. Dr. McFarland is committed to advancing knowledge in fluid dynamics and educating the next generation of engineers.
