Biography

Jacobo Weinstock is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton specializing in Zooarchaeology, Palaeogenetics, and Palaeoecology. He obtained his BA in Archaeology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MA in Environmental Archaeology and Palaeoeconomy from the University of Sheffield. His PhD research was conducted at the University of Tübingen, Germany, where he studied the effects of environmental and climatic changes on the size of reindeer across Western and Central Europe. Before joining Southampton, he worked as an Assistant Curator of Quaternary Mammals at the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart and held a postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford focusing on Palaeogenetics of Pleistocene mammals. Weinstock has also contributed to research on Neolithic faunal remains and taphonomic ecology of Late Quaternary faunal remains in various sites across the UK.
