Professor Jacques De Guise completed a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1977, followed by a doctorate in biomedical engineering in 1984 at École Polytechnique Montréal. He then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship from 1984 to 1986 at the Computer Vision Robotics Laboratory at McGill University. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Automated Production Engineering at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and holds the Canada Research Chair in 3D Imaging and Biomedical Engineering since 2004. He also holds the Marie-Lou and Yves Cotrel Chair in Orthopedic Research at the Faculty of Medicine of Université de Montréal. His research interests are focused on the development and application of imaging methods and morpho-functional modeling of biological systems. He leads the Laboratory of Imaging and Orthopedics, affiliated with ÉTS and various Montreal research centers. His work primarily addresses medical imaging technology applications and 3D modeling in fields such as spinal surgery, joint surgery, and vascular systems. He has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in numerous research projects and innovations in health technologies.
