Biography

Jacques Fellay is a medical scientist with expertise in human genomics, infectious diseases, and personalized health. He obtained his MD from the University of Lausanne in 2002 and completed his PhD at the University of Utrecht. Following clinical training in infectious diseases in Switzerland and a four-year postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University, he joined the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in April 2011 as a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Professor. Jacques heads the Precision Medicine program at the University Hospital (CHUV) in Lausanne and serves as a Group Leader at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB). He is also a faculty member of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH) and Chief Scientist at the Health2030 Genome Center in Campus Biotech, Geneva. He is committed to understanding how human genetic variation modulates immunity and the individual responses to infectious agents.
