Biography

Dr. Lacroix has training in pediatrics and pediatric critical care. His specific areas of expertise are intensive care and transfusion medicine. His research focuses on transfusion medicine, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), and pediatric intensive care. Dr. Lacroix is the Director of the clinician-researcher program. He co-founded the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network, which involves 70 academic pediatric intensive care units in the United States and Canada. He has received numerous honors throughout his career, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal for the academic year 2001-2002, the Scientific Career Award from the Fondation des étoiles, and the Alan Ross Award from the Canadian Pediatric Society. Throughout his career, Dr. Lacroix has obtained 74 research grants totaling over 39 million dollars. He has delivered 271 invited lectures, including 132 outside Canada, and has 259 scientific communications, both oral and poster presentations.
