Biography

Jacques Lussier is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, where his contributions to undergraduate and graduate education are considered remarkable and exceptional. An excellent communicator, he does not compromise on the rigor expected from his students, who greatly appreciate the enthusiasm he communicates. He has twice been awarded the Pfizer Carl J. He is actively involved in coordinating physiology courses that are not directly tied to his research program, demonstrating his dedication to pedagogy. He has contributed to the creation of numerous laboratories and employs innovative approaches to extend students' skills in cloning and bioinformatics. At the graduate level, he has designed courses in molecular genetics and biomedical sciences, enabling students to deepen their theoretical knowledge and acquire practical expertise in protein and nucleic acid analysis. His expertise is sought after by students, and he has supervised or co-supervised around 25 graduate students. His research program's excellence has secured him numerous major grants, and his peers awarded him the Pfizer Award for excellence in research in 2006.
