Biography

Dr. Jacques Malherbe is a Senior Haematology Registrar and Advanced Trainee at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of Western Australia in 2012, followed by a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honors) where he researched megakaryocyte pathobiology in myeloproliferative neoplasms. He received his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction from the University of Western Australia in 2017. Dr. Malherbe has been actively involved in translational research related to haematological malignancies since 2013 and has published several papers in the field, garnering over 100 citations to date. In addition to his research, he serves as a clinical lecturer, providing lecturing and tutorial support to undergraduate students in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Western Australia. His research interests focus on megakaryocyte biology and pathology, myeloproliferative neoplasms, myeloid disorders, leukaemias, and advancements in haematology diagnostics through digital enumeration technology.
