Jae-sun Seo is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell Tech and Cornell Engineering. He previously served as an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University from 2022 to 2023, and held the position of visiting researcher at Meta Reality Labs during that time. Before joining ASU, he was a research staff member at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. Jae-sun received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University. His research focuses on efficient hardware design for Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technologies, particularly in the areas of machine learning and neuromorphic algorithms, as well as hardware-efficient AI algorithm design. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, the NSF CAREER Award, the Intel Outstanding Researcher Award, and the IEEE TVLSI Paper Award. Jae-sun has also served on the technical program committees for numerous conferences including ISSCC, ESSERC, ISCA, HPCA, MLSys, DAC, DATE, and ICCAD.
