Biography

Jaehong Kim is the Henry P. Becton Sr. Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Yale University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and both his Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Seoul National University. His research interests focus on advanced materials-based approaches to environmental applications, including solar water disinfection using nanomaterials and single-atom catalysts. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Runner-Up for the Environmental Science & Technology Top Environmental Technology Paper and the Ackerman Award for Teaching and Mentoring at Yale. He is a distinguished member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering and has received the Barton L. Weller Endowed Professorship at Yale. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of photocatalytic processes in water treatment and has published extensively in high-impact journals. His commitment to research and education in environmental engineering aims to address critical challenges in water quality and sustainability.
