Biography

Jagruti Thakur is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), specializing in Energy System Analysis and policies related to renewable energy. She earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, with a focus on energy policy and renewables in India. Prior to her current role, she worked as a project executive on GIS-based urban planning projects in India. Dr. Thakur has also made contributions to the Energy Analysis & Environmental Impacts Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California. In recognition of her outstanding doctoral research, she received the POSOCO Power System Award in 2017, an honor bestowed upon only 15 Ph.D. theses in India that year. Her extensive experience includes supervising Master's theses and currently supervising Ph.D. students. Dr. Thakur is actively involved in projects with Swedish municipalities aimed at providing solutions for network planning and infrastructure optimization. Her research interests include Demand Side Management, Digitalization of Energy, Local Energy Communities, Energy Storage, as well as Energy Systems Modelling. She focuses on developing open-source tools that serve researchers and society, contributing to sustainable development.
