Dr. Jahangir Hossain

Biography

Jahangir Hossain is a Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He previously held research fellow appointments at the National Institute of Scientific Research in Canada and the Institute of Telecommunications Research in Australia, as well as at McGill University. He has gained extensive practical experience in developing contemporary wireless communication systems through various industrial roles. Notably, he worked as a research intern at Intel Inc., USA, and as a senior systems engineer at Redline Communications in Canada. His research primarily focuses on developing innovative communication technologies utilizing machine learning and digital twins. He has earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Hossain's work has contributed to significant advancements in areas such as 6G applications, federated learning in wireless networks, and holographic MIMO systems.
