Biography

Jaideep Pandit is a Professor of Anaesthesia at the University of Oxford and a Consultant Anaesthetist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He specializes in oxygen sensing and respiratory control, particularly the effects of anaesthetics on hypoxic ventilatory responses. He has made significant discoveries regarding anaesthetic agents, revealing their competition at single receptors, which has implications for clinical practice. With extensive publications and recognitions, including the Royal College Gold Medal and the British Medical Journal’s Book Award, Pandit has contributed to the field through academic leadership and research. He was involved in national medical education strategies and has held numerous prestigious fellowships and visiting professorships internationally.
