Biography

Jaime Lavallee is an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law, having joined in July 2018. He focuses on nation-building based on the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development (HPAIED) model. Previously, he served as the Director of Indigenous Governance, Law & Policy at the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council. His extensive experience includes working with Indigenous rights organizations in southern Africa, and he has specialized in the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) at the National NAGPRA Program. Lavallee has held various teaching and advisory positions, contributing actively to community and academic engagement. He is a citizen of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatchewan, Canada. He holds a JD from the University of Toronto, an LLM, and an SJD from the University of Arizona, focusing on Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy.
