Jaisie Sin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Technology at Carleton University. His research focuses on inclusive design, emerging technology, conversational voice user interfaces, and virtual reality. Jaisie aims to reduce barriers to technology access and adoption and to prevent design-based marginalization of underrepresented users, especially older adults. His projects have investigated older adults' perceptions of smart speakers, the role of technology in social well-being, and voice interaction used in virtual reality. He has published extensively at conferences such as CHI, CUI, and MobileHCI, as well as in journals like the Journal of Human-Computer Interaction. Jaisie received his PhD in Information from the University of Toronto in 2024 and has a Master's degree in Information with a focus on User Experience Design from the same university. He also holds an Honours Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Neuroscience from the Faculty of Arts and Science. His research areas include Human-Computer Interaction, Natural User Interfaces Research, Assistive Technology, Usability and User Experience, and Aging.
