Biography

Prof. Jake Barralet, BEng (Hons) from Leeds and PhD from the University of London, completed postdoctoral studies at Tokyo Dental and Medical University. He began his academic career at the University of Birmingham and currently holds the position of Vice Chair (Research) and Alan Thompson Chair for Surgical Research at the Department of Surgery. He is also the Research Director of the Division of Orthopaedics and Associate Director of the SIS Program at RIMUHC. Barralet is the Director of Innovation at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning within the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. His research focuses on material-mediated tissue regeneration, particularly the effects of inorganic ions on bone and skin regeneration.
