Biography

Dr. Lee is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologist affiliated with the Stanford Medicine Cancer Center’s Head and Neck Cancer Program. He serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, as well as oral, tonsil, throat, and thyroid cancers. His expertise includes minimally invasive transoral surgery and organ-preserving laryngeal surgery, as well as microvascular free flap reconstruction techniques. Dr. Lee's research focuses on assessing treatment outcomes in head and neck cancer patients and developing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to optimize patient function. He has contributed significantly to the study of new therapies addressing smell and taste loss and has been involved in designing and implementing randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Throughout his career, Dr. Lee has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and shared his findings at various national and international conferences.
