Biography

Jakkarin Sareerak is the Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia Program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. With over a decade of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, he has made significant contributions to anesthesia care, education, and research, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in nursing anesthesia practice. Sareerak began his nursing career as a registered nurse in intensive care units before completing his nurse anesthesia degree in 2012. He served underserved communities in California's Central Valley and worked with Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in the East Bay for five years. Before joining UC Davis, he worked as an assistant professor and simulation educator in the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Samuel Merritt University. Actively involved in professional organizations, Sareerak has a keen interest in simulation training and nurse anesthesia education, currently serving on the education committee and faculty stabilization advisory board of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA). He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice concentrating on advanced practice leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing, a Master of Science in nurse anesthesia from Samuel Merritt University, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University at Los Angeles, and an Associate Science degree in nursing from Los Angeles County College of Nursing. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in nursing education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with a goal to elevate the DNP-Nurse Anesthesia Program at UC Davis by fostering a culture of academic excellence and cultivating future leaders in nurse anesthesia practice.
