Biography

Jakša Cvitanić works in the fields of mathematical finance, financial engineering, financial economics, and contract theory. He is currently the Richard N. Merkin Professor of Mathematical Finance at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and has been in this position since 2013. He previously served as a Professor at Caltech from 2005 to 2013 and has held various leadership roles such as the Associate Director and later the Director of the Ronald Maxine Linde Institute of Economic and Management Sciences. Cvitanić is also the president of the Bachelier Finance Society since 2003, contributing to the advancement of interdisciplinary research and education in finance.
