Biography

Dr. Jakub Boguszak joined the Department of English at the University of Southampton in 2016 after receiving his doctoral degree from the University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate studies at Charles University in Prague and then moved to the UK to pursue a Master’s degree and AHRC-funded doctoral research focusing on the works of early modern playwright Ben Jonson. Before taking up his Lectureship at Southampton, he worked as a research assistant at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. His research interests encompass casting practices, Shakespearean productions, and the early modern period, particularly the works and performance dynamics of Ben Jonson.
