Biography

James J. Bock is the Marvin L. Goldberger Professor of Physics at the Kavli Nanoscience Institute at Caltech University. He has a strong research background with expertise in experimental physics and space sciences, particularly in the development of technologies for astronomical observations. Bock earned his B.S. from Duke University in 1987 and went on to receive his M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990, followed by a Ph.D. in 1994. During this time, he held various positions, including Visiting Associate at Caltech from 1994 to 2008 and Senior Faculty Associate from 2008 to 2012.
