Biography

James Chang is the Johnson & Johnson Distinguished Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University. He graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Biology and Economics, and then earned his MD from Yale School of Medicine, graduating cum laude. He has received numerous grants including multi-year federal awards for innovative research in tendon grafts. Dr. Chang has served in various leadership roles within the American Society of Surgery of the Hand, including President and Research Director, and he is actively involved in resident education and the advancement of surgical techniques in his field.
