Biography

James currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. Prior to retirement in 2013, he was a Senior Advisor at Morgan Stanley Investment, where he held the position of CEO and lead portfolio manager for Asian Equity strategies at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in Singapore. After rejoining Morgan Stanley in 2006, James accumulated over 30 years of investment experience in the Asian markets. He was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Invesco Asia Fund Management in Hong Kong and co-founded a boutique asset management firm, Asia Strategic Investment Management. James has been involved in several investment advisory roles and is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the University of Michigan Endowment Fund. Additionally, he is the Founding Director of Caring Life, a Singapore-based mental health NGO, and a Senior Advisor at the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI) at NUS.
