Biography

James Connelly is a classically trained geologist who initially focused on structural metamorphic geology and tectonics. Over time, his research expanded to include U-Pb geochronology and isotope geochemistry of terrestrial rocks, particularly in Precambrian terrains. He has gradually shifted his focus to the application of U-Pb and Pb-Pb geochronology in studying meteorite components, which provides insights into a timeframe of five million years within the Solar System. Currently, he holds the position of Professor of Geochronology at the Globe Institute, University of Copenhagen, where he actively engages in research collaborations across various top research areas.
