Dr. James Dodington

Biography

James Dodington, MD, is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics with a specialization in Emergency Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He is dedicated to providing high-quality care to a diverse range of patients suffering from medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health conditions. Dr. Dodington is also actively involved in injury and violence prevention initiatives, aiming to educate the community on safety measures across all ages. His work includes efforts to ensure the proper use of car seats for children and promoting firearm safety among teens and adults. With his leadership in these educational outreach programs, Dr. Dodington hopes to disseminate crucial injury prevention messages that can significantly reduce the incidence of injuries and minimize the need for emergency care. He completed his medical fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in 2016, his residency at Children's Hospital Philadelphia in 2013, and earned his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Additionally, he holds an AB in Science and Technology Studies from Vassar College, awarded in 2005. His commitment to the field and community underscores his role as an educator and advocate in pediatric emergency medicine.
