Professor Dr. James Dworkin

Biography

James Dworkin is the Chancellor Emeritus and a Professor at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from Minnesota (1977), an M.A. in Industrial Relations from Cincinnati (1971), and a B.A. in Economics from Cincinnati (1970). His research interests include collective bargaining, negotiations, dispute resolution, unionism in professional sports, codetermination, and worker participation in management. Dworkin has authored several significant works, including 'Owners Versus Players: Baseball Collective Bargaining' (1981) and 'Reflections Transformation Industrial Relations' (1989), along with various articles discussing labor relations and conflict resolution. As a consultant, he has worked for the U.S. Department of Labor and other organizations, bringing expertise in arbitration and mediation in labor-management disputes. His affiliations include the Industrial Relations Research Association and the American Arbitration Association.
