Dr. James Dziura

Biography

James Dziura is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He is a biostatistician with over 200 peer-reviewed articles authored in collaboration with a diverse group of Yale investigators. Dziura is also the Deputy Director of the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences and the Director of the Yale Data Coordinating Center, contributing significantly to the field of biostatistics and research training for young investigators, including mentoring K-awardees and post-doctoral fellows. His primary research interests include the coordination of multicenter clinical trials, with notable projects such as the RUPP Autism Network study and the Autism Biomarkers Consortium Clinical Trials, which focus on developing experimental biomarkers and interventions for various health outcomes. His work also encompasses the epidemiology and treatment of metabolic disorders, obesity, and diabetes, with research that has examined the effects of physical activity on diabetes maintenance and the complications of obesity in children. Dziura's active engagement in training future clinician scientists emphasizes innovative research studies aimed at improving health outcomes for patients at risk of drug abuse, addiction, and HIV.
